Commissions and Workshops
I welcome all enquiries about commissisons and workshops, although I cannot guarantee availablitiy so please make enquiries as early as possible to be in with the best chance of securing your commission or booking. Information on how to go about commissioning an artwork or booking a workshop, can be found in the sections below. Please read the relevant guidance carefully before making your enquiry.
Commissions
Each year, limited slots are available for commissions. Commissions are one-off ceramic artworks that are designed by me with your ideas and input at the core. In the past, clients have commissioned gifts based on treasured memories and shared stories with loved ones or they have requested 'communication containers'; ceramics dishes which can immortalise our most treasured day to day, mundane conversations with those we love or can express complex feelings to a loved one to encourage and facilitate openness and communication.

Send an enquiry via contacts page or link above. When slots become available* we can discuss your ideas, budgets and estimated time-scales** without obligation.
Stage 2
On receipt of the commission fee***, a digitally drawn design will be created for you. (two further re-designs are included in the fee, should you wish to make alterations)
Stage 3
Once approved, your final design is hand-made before being shipped to you in customised 'presentation' packaging, with a certificate of authenticity.
*Note that there is limited availability for commissioned work each year, but all enquiries are welcomed and requests will be kept on file until commission slots become available.
**Depending on the nature of the commission, the whole process can take anything from a few months up to a year and prices agreed in advance, will vary.
***Following agreement of your no-obligation quote and estimated time scale, the commission fee is either paid in advance or in two equal instalments (the first prior to design stage and the second prior to making and shipping).

NOTE: It is the responsibility of the individual or organisation making the booking to ensure suitable, insured premises are in place for the booked workshops (adequate space, surfaces, water and toilet facilities are essential). Unsuitable premises may result in a non-refundable cancellation of the workshop.

Make an Incantation Bowl (Group Workshop)
Incantation bowl workshops help participants to examine their own conversations and relationships while making art. We use mobile phones (other methods are available), to consider the sound of your own voice, to find your worries, your habits, your hopes and your irritations and use them to create a text decorated ceramic bowl.
Workshop can be ran at locations with or without a kiln (using air dried clay and paint). Or for additional fees, work can be fired at my home studio, then posted or collected by arrangement
SUITABLE FOR: adults, older children with accompanying adult (12yrs +)
GROUP SIZE: depending on premises, up to 10 participants per workshop
DURATION: 5 hours

Text-based Tiled Panel (Group Workshop/s)
Text-based Tile Panel workshops help groups of participants to work, share and analyse their voices as one, while contributing individual, personalised elements.
The workshop can be adapted to various purposes - making community based public art, creating an opportunity to share and examine group relationships and dynamics, well being, social bonding etc.
Participants will learn various hand-building and surface decoration techniques with clay. They will examine their relationships with themselves, with others or with the wider world by, for example, using mobile phones to analyse and consider their personal voices as a small visual element within a larger piece.
NOTE:
-
Tile panel workshops can be ran with or without a kiln (this must be discussed prior). For additional fees, work can be fired at my home studio, then posted or collected by arrangement.
-
It is up to the organisation or individual responsible for the booking to install or frame the final tile panel, should they wish to do so.
-
If a specific number of tiles is required (e.g. to tile a particular wall) multiple tiles could be made by each participant in a longer workshop or multiple workshops could be booked.
SUITABLE FOR: adults and children (only with accompanying adult)
GROUP SIZE: depending on premises, up to 10 participants per workshop
DURATION: 3 or 5 hour sessions available.
